Debunking propaganda; the “8 Personal Tax Hikes” leaflet

This leaflet titled “8 Personal Tax Hikes” just got posted through my letterbox. It lists 8 “taxes” a Corbyn Government would supposedly levy on real people.

It’s full of lies. I worry that people will take it at face value. The really weird thing is that it doesn’t mention the Tories. It says don’t vote Green, Brexit or Labour… but doesn’t appear to be an official Conservative party communication.

It turns out that it comes from a Tory benefactor called “Working 4 UK” a limited company, set up one month ago, whose sole director and shareholder is Suraj Sharma, a Conservative councillor from the borough of Chislehurst. I mean, this whole thing seems dodgy right from the start. Why is this coming from a limited company instead of my local MP? Or CCHQ?

Could it be a front seeking plausible deniability for making false claims in election literature?

BTW, here’s a photo of Mr. Sharma with Dominic Raab.

ANYWAY let’s debunk this guy’s claims, one by one.

“1. Labour will take an extra £250 in tax from all married low and middle income tax payers.”
